The editor of this web site, Yuki Yoshida(Hereafter call with the subject of "I", have played what I call "The first, the second and the third stages of Life back in Japan as a top business person. On February 1st, 2009, I began, at the age of late 78, to have what I call "The fourth stage of life" in this soil of the Republic of the Philippines with some aims and reasons, which the visitors would come to find by visiting this Web from time to time.(January 1st, 2018)

The above photos, the left is the one taken coincidentally right on the very day and moment when the Huge and dreadful earthquake hit in Eastern Japan on March 11, 2011. You could see this in "Atomic bomb survivor credits desire to learn for living 'four lives'(The JAPAN Times, August 4, 2012). The middle is the one taken on the day when my passport was renewed in the Japanese Embassy in Manila on September 11, 2014, with another termination date of Ten years, 2024, meaning I would be 93-year-old with the necessity for the next renewal with another termination of 103 years old! Yes!? The necessity would come again! Ha. Far the right one is the one taken in October, 2017 in my office.

The followings are some of my writing records in English publicly opened. The Japanese editions of this kind are far the more, though....

I was then in the third stage of my life as a business consultant, maverick consultant firm, LOGITANT, Inc., meaning "Logistic and Logical Consultant. Logistic comes from my own experience of managing a trucking industry company, years later developing into what I called "Seven group companies". "Logic" came from my personal life philosophy of "logical thinking and behavior".

The fourth from left is the one depicting "My  9-minutes-speech in Las Vegus in the International conference of SAM(The Society for Advancement of Management)". I was then the president of Hiroshima branch chapter of the SAM(The Society for Advancement of Management). The award was "Material Handling Award". The attendants were some 300, business persons, university professors and the graduate students, one third each. My dear memory was "Huge standing ovation with whistles" occurred and continued even after returned to my table on the stage!!

Thus after spending my first , second and third stages of my life as a top business person, I am in this soil of the Philippines playing what I call "The fourth life". My expectation would be the 5th life in which I would call "The final fifth stage of my life for writing my final personal history".

One thing that is worthy of depicting here and I feel proud of is that an almost-100-year-old trucking company in Shimbashi, Tokyo which was used be my 10-year-old client until leaving Japan is still and will be using Yoshida-written book as a sort of text for the newly-employed managers. The book is "Yoshida's Advice to the Professional Truck Drivers"(Japanese Edition) plays a sort of its text. I have its English translation of the Contents."English Contents" is it.

The Editor's memo for this day!
                            Tuesday 20, February, 2018
I happened to hit a very interesting article in the Nikkei column in which I first came to know  of something very interesting at this age of 86 years old!  It is a big letter of Chinese character "円", which is Yen, the Japanese currency name. A very famous Japanese architect, Mr. Kingo Tatsuno,  known as the designer of Tokyo Station Building, was the very person who designed it.
Tokyo is very familiar to me because I used to have one of the clients for some 9 years in Shimbashi before leaving Japan for the Philippines. I recall many dear memories of Tokyo. However, I did not know of this hidden thing until now. Indeed Nichigin, Japan Bank, needs to keep the Yen strong, and designer seemed emphasizing it.s
The currency values is complicated issue, indeed. When strong import benefit is expected, and when weak, export benefit. I remember in 1993, I made "A month-investigation-trip to the US trucking industry", in which I spent some three million Yen under the rate of "$1=\100". Now, in the Philippines strong Yen is favorable, you know. Ha, ha.

                        today@VOA & NYTimes.com
This column is for editing what I call "the illustrated stories" with photos related with the events and news, so that the visitors could enjoy the stories in a visual ways. The former, "today@VOA" deals with historical events with the exception of week-ends, and the latter with stories who lived and dead with more than a hundred years old of his or her lives. My interest in the latter one comes from my strong will of living more than a hundred of years trying to make it with a thought of my mother who lived until 102, or my personal wish and will to live a life of the so-called "The longest lived Hibakusha(A-bomb survivor) with my thought of "Ms. Elbina Deans, the longest-lived suruvivor of the Titanic", and another target of a 119-year-old Filipina, Puerto Princesa, with the title of oldest living person in the Guinness Book of World Records.

                                          No.375(feb. 22, 2018)
"On February 21, 1842, the first US patent — for the sewing machine"
I had hard time trying to get the photo of this sewing machine inventor,
John James Greenough by the name, only the one on the top left. The photo explanation says; "This  inventor and former Superintendent of the Patent Office at Washington, died in Brookline to-day. He was the first to take out a patent ...".
In the process of finding more exact information concerning the inventor, I hit an article which tells about more deep information concerning the real inventor of the sawing machine, which is "The first patent for the sewing machine was granted today in 1842 to John Greenough", in which says an interesting factor about the real inventor of the device. It says "The first practical and widely used sewing machine was patented in France by Barthélemy Thimonnier, a French tailor, on July 17, 1830". Some 12 years before John Greenough of Washington made this historical accomplishment in 1842.

Editor of this Event, Yoshida myself used to have license with three patents in my first stage of life as an independent craft man career in the late teenage life through correspondence with American same craft men, so that I am especially interested in this sort of event.
In fact, I find less and scares information and photos under the name of "John Greennough" . There seems that there were many and deep dispute as to who actually was the practical sawing machine.
By the way, when I was a boy before entering an elementary school, I vividly remember the Singer sawing machine Mammy was using. She was born in Hawaii and returned at 11 year-old with good knowledge of things American.
